> A US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent shot a man in the Bronx on Thursday during what the Department of Homeland Security described as a targeted operation to arrest a “criminal illegal alien.” The department said the man was alive and taken to a hospital. Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the incident, saying early reports indicated agents had surrounded the man and a five-year-old child in his car before firing. Governor Kathy Hochul called for any body-camera footage to be released.
