> US prosecutors have accused Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, of conspiring to torture US citizens held in Venezuela while he was in power. The charges, made public Thursday, add to existing drug-trafficking and weapons accusations, which the couple deny. Both have been detained since January, and their trial is scheduled to begin in June 2027.
