# Oil majors eye Middle East investments despite war, newspaper says

> Major oil companies are pursuing investment opportunities in the Middle East despite the US-Iran conflict, the Financial Times reported. Executives from Shell, BP, TotalEnergies, ConocoPhillips and Chevron voiced interest this week. TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanne said the region has the cheapest oil and called for alternative routes to unlock the Strait of Hormuz.
