> During Xi Jinping’s September visit to Washington, Donald Trump urged him to lift China’s export restrictions on Japan, including controls on rare earths, South China Morning Post reported. Sources said Trump described the measures as a threat to US industries reliant on Japanese suppliers and an indirect breach of the US-China trade truce. Xi reportedly said the China-Japan dispute should remain separate from US-China relations.
