> US President Donald Trump said France is facing the consequences of an overly lenient immigration policy and claimed that Islam wants “to take over” the country. He said the issue was uncontrolled mass migration, not schools. High-school protests that began in Île-de-France have spread nationwide over strained schedules, teacher shortages and other education problems. Some demonstrations escalated into unrest and clashes with police; more than 6,000 people have been detained, 90% of them minors.
