> Protests demanding education reforms are spreading across France, with police firing tear gas at demonstrators blockading high schools. Authorities estimated about 250,000 protesters nationwide, while organisers put the figure closer to 500,000; nearly 2,000 high schools were blockaded or closed. Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu suspended classes for the rest of the week and ordered ministers to address students’ demands by the end of October.
