> The Pentagon says former Army major Nidal Malik Hasan will be executed by firing squad for the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, in which 13 soldiers were killed and 32 wounded. The execution, approved by Donald Trump after a recommendation from Pete Hegseth, would be the first US military execution in more than 60 years and the first firing-squad execution since World War II.
