> Experts say the US withdrawal of about a dozen B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford removes a convenient launchpad but not Washington’s underlying ability to strike Iran. The move could make it harder to rapidly sustain heavy bombing missions, increasing reliance on longer-range flights, aerial refuelling and fatigued crews, while reflecting concerns over possible attacks on the base or aircraft.
