> Luke Harding’s book “Betrayal: Trump, Putin and the New Age of Conquest” opens with North Korean soldiers preparing to join Europe’s largest land war since 1945. Harding portrays this as evidence of a return to great-power politics, argues that Donald Trump has emboldened Vladimir Putin and other authoritarian leaders, and links the collapse of the post-1945 order to the human cost in Ukraine.
