> Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has confirmed that Spain will hold a general election on 29 November after his Socialist party, which leads a minority government, failed to pass housing reforms in Congress. Polls put the Socialists behind the conservative People's Party, which is widely expected to seek a government deal with far-right Vox. Sanchez warned of an “extreme-right wave” abroad and said Spain should remain an example of “peace, feminism and prosperity”.
