# G7 to release 100 million barrels of oil and diesel — will it curb prices?

> The G7 will coordinate through the IEA to release 100 million barrels of crude over four months, with a substantial diesel release in the first 20 days, to counter soaring energy prices linked to the wars involving Iran and Ukraine. Diesel supplies have also been hit by reduced Middle East exports to Europe, attacks on Russian refineries and China ending exports.
