> Eastern Spain is facing torrential rain and potentially damaging floods as a Dana brings slow-moving thunderstorms along the Mediterranean coast. Some areas could receive 200-300mm, with Valencia and Castelló de la Plana among those most at risk; three towns in Catalonia are under lockdown and Valencia has closed schools. Heavy rain killed 27 people in Nepal, while a nor’easter in the north-east US cut power to about 200,000 people and killed one person.
