> Ethiopia and Eritrea have cut diplomatic relations as fighting resumes in northern Ethiopia, raising fears of a wider regional conflict. Ethiopia closed its embassy in Asmara and expelled 10 Eritrean diplomats over alleged national-security threats; Eritrea responded with reciprocal action. More than 50 people have reportedly been killed since the fighting resumed last week.
