> France’s government says a rapidly expanding high-school protest over long hours, teacher shortages and deteriorating facilities has become “urban violence”. Around 900 demonstrations, blockades and related incidents were reported nationwide, with more than 160 schools closed. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu called a crisis cabinet meeting, while some schools will move classes online.
