> EU steel production has dropped to a historic low as energy prices surged, US tariffs took effect and Chinese supplies increased, the Financial Times reported. Exports fell about 20%, while crude steel output declined 3% to 126 million metric tons in 2025. EUROFER said Europe is the only major region with shrinking steelmaking capacity.
