> A Flydubai flight from Dubai to Israel was the scene of an attempted hijacking on September 30. One pilot stabbed the co-pilot, after which passengers and crew entered the cockpit and subdued him. The plane plunged about 15,000 feet, sent a distress call and made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia under the control of other crew members. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was too early to identify the cause or determine whether Iran was involved, while Israel’s defence minister called it an act of “jihadist terrorism.”
