> French teenagers set rubbish bins alight and threw projectiles at police on Tuesday as school blockades and protests intensified. Officers responded with batons and tear gas, while hundreds were detained nationwide. Students have protested outside hundreds of schools since last week over timetables, class sizes, teacher shortages and overheated classrooms during heatwaves.
