> Greece, Germany, Austria, Denmark and the Netherlands are advancing plans for an EU-funded deportation hub in Africa, with operations expected as early as the second half of 2027. Greece says an African partner has been chosen but remains unnamed; Rwanda and Uganda have been cited, without confirmation. The proposed sites would be open facilities, with responsibility staying with the five EU states.
