> China’s National Climate Centre says El Nino is rapidly intensifying and could become the strongest super El Nino ever recorded. The event is expected to affect China from autumn and winter through spring and summer 2027, bringing wetter conditions, above-normal temperatures and more extreme weather, with southern areas alert to cold waves, freezing rain and snow.
