# Putin imposes new limits on taking cash rubles out of Russia

> Vladimir Putin has decreed that individuals may not take more than 1 million rubles in cash from Russia to Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, or Uzbekistan. Legal entities and sole proprietors are barred from carrying cash there regardless of the amount, except in specified cases. Violations will lead to seizure, tightening restrictions introduced in April 2026.
