> Spain’s coalition government has approved housing proposals after protests in several cities over the eviction of 87-year-old Maricarmen Abascal in Madrid. The package could ban evictions until 2030, automatically extend rental contracts until 2028, tighten rules on short-term and room rentals, and bar investment firms from buying homes. It still needs parliamentary approval.
