> The Department of Transportation issued a final rule rolling Corporate Average Fuel Economy targets back to levels not seen in more than a decade. The target is 34.9 mpg for model year 2031; emissions credits disappear from 2028, and EVs and plug-in hybrids will no longer count toward an automaker’s fleet average.
