> Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir led hundreds of Israelis into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound under heavy police protection, declaring, “We are the owners of the place in Al-Aqsa.” Roads around Jerusalem’s Old City were closed and Palestinian businesses were forced to shut during Jewish prayers for Sukkot. A Palestinian official called the incursion a dangerous provocation that could fuel a religious war.
