> Turkish comedian Deniz Goktas went on trial in Istanbul over jokes in his stand-up show that prosecutors say insulted President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, praised crime and criminals, and incited hatred and hostility through references to Islam. Goktas has been held in pretrial detention since July and could face several years in prison if convicted on multiple charges.
