> Aleksandar Vucic has resigned as Serbia’s president to seek the prime minister’s post in a snap parliamentary election on October 25. The move comes as a student-led protest movement, sparked by the Novi Sad railway station disaster, mounts the strongest challenge to his rule in more than a decade. Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic will serve as acting president.
