> The Reserve Bank of Australia is expected to raise its cash rate from 4.35% to 4.6%, the fourth increase of 2026 and its highest level since 2011. The move could push typical mortgage rates to 6.5%, add about $119 to monthly repayments on an average new loan and further depress house prices and consumer spending. Markets expect another rise early next year.
