> Two separate shooting incidents in South Africa killed 27 people overnight. Police say 17 were shot dead at a tavern outside Johannesburg by suspects armed with assault rifles, while 10 others were killed near Cape Town at a venue selling grilled meat. No arrests have been made. Initial investigations point to a possible illegal-miner turf war in one case and a business rivalry in the other.
