> Lawyers for Christa Pike have filed a clemency petition ahead of her scheduled 30 September execution for the 1995 murder of fellow student Colleen Slemmer. They argue that Pike’s extensive childhood abuse, neglect, youth and mental illness would likely mean she would not receive a death sentence if convicted today.
