> Germany’s Olympic committee has chosen Munich over the Cologne/Rhine-Ruhr region to bid for the 2036, 2040 or 2044 Summer Olympics. President Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced the decision. The proposal is centred on the Olympic Park built for the 1972 Games, and will now enter dialogue with the IOC.
