# Hurricane Polo raises fears of heavy rain and landslides in Mexico

> The US National Hurricane Center warned that Hurricane Polo is bringing heavy rain and strong waves to Mexico’s Pacific coast, with potentially life-threatening flooding and landslides. Polo was expected to remain a Category 5 storm while moving offshore. Tropical Storm Nolo is also approaching Hawaii, where officials are preparing for possible catastrophic flooding, strong winds and heavy rain.
