> China’s higher education population has reached 270 million, a Ministry of Education official said. Universities accounted for about three-quarters of general projects receiving the country’s top three science and technology awards in 2025, while vocational education supplied over 70% of newly added skilled workers. China plans to support about 200 high-level application-oriented universities during 2026-2030.
