# EBRD cuts Russia’s 2026 GDP growth forecast to 0.5%

> The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development lowered its forecast for Russia’s economic growth in 2026 to 0.5%, down 0.3 percentage points from its June projection. Its 2027 forecast was also cut by 0.3 points to 0.7%. The bank said higher oil prices had supported a robust external position, while defense spending was rising.
