> TASS estimates that 17 people have died in bear attacks across Russia’s Siberian and Far Eastern districts in recent months. The Krasnoyarsk Region recorded the highest toll, with six deaths. Forest fires and a poor pine nut harvest were among the factors linked to increased bear encounters, which have affected 41 regions this year.
