> Relatives told Belgorod-based outlet Fonar that former mayor Konstantin Polezhaev was killed in the war, without providing further details. Polezhaev later served as a regional deputy governor and was sentenced to five years for accepting vehicle bribes. He had said he signed a Defense Ministry contract, though another outlet claimed he only nominally belonged to the BARS reserve and remained at home.
