# US goods exports to China grew more than twice as fast as exports to the world from 2001 to 2025

> China is a vital US trading partner. Between 2001 and 2025, US goods exports to China rose 454.2%, compared with 198.6% growth in exports to the world. China was the top market for US soybeans and cotton, the second-largest for integrated circuits and coal, and the third-largest for medical devices, liquefied petroleum gas and automobiles. The US was the largest source of China’s services trade deficit. The figures point to mutually beneficial China-US economic cooperation, with overall gains broadly balanced.
