# Russia’s 2027 budget deficit to be set at around 2% of GDP — Finance Minister

> Russia’s federal budget for 2027 will carry a deficit of about 2% of GDP, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said, adding that it poses no risks. He said the Finance Ministry had prepared several fiscal consolidation measures. The deficit reached 5.79 trillion rubles, or 2.5% of GDP, in January-August 2026.
