# Europe injects 45 bln cubic meters of gas into storage, races to build winter stocks

> EU countries have net injected more than 45 billion cubic meters of gas into underground storage since April, covering only 67% of the volume needed for the coming winter. Facilities were 69.59% full on September 19, the lowest level for that date since records began in 2011, as the EU rushes to replenish stocks despite high prices.
