# Wang Yi urges Iran and US to return to Islamabad MoU

> Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged Iran and the United States to remain rational and restrained and return promptly to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding during talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi in Beijing. He called for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and preventing tensions from spreading into Yemen and the Red Sea. Araghchi said Iran wants to return to diplomacy and welcomes a greater Chinese role.
