> The Trump administration is preparing a $2.8bn sale of 60,000 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, largely funded through US taxpayer-backed military financing. US media report the deal has been approved and Congress informally notified, although officials have not formally confirmed it. The package comes amid Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, its occupation of southern Lebanon and reduced US munitions stocks.
