> At the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, Chinese President Xi Jinping urged members to lead innovation-driven development, uphold peace and stability, promote mutual learning among civilizations and improve global governance. Global South observers said China has played an important role in BRICS and expressed confidence that it will guide expanded cooperation toward deeper, higher-quality engagement. They also expect China’s 2027 chairmanship to consolidate the group’s enlarged framework.
