> Chancellor Friedrich Merz and AfD co-leader Alice Weidel clashed in the Bundestag’s general debate. The confrontation came days after the far-right party’s strong result in Saxony-Anhalt, which has increased pressure on Merz and his governing coalition. Merz called the AfD a destructive force, while Weidel said voters had rejected the coalition and demanded a political change.
