> Typhoon Saudel brought days of torrential rain to Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong. Nearly 600,000 people were evacuated in Fujian and 128,000 were affected in Jiangxi. Flooding and landslides damaged infrastructure; at least 1,260 people were rescued after a Putian river embankment collapsed, while a landslip in Suichuan killed three and left nine missing.
