> Exit polls indicate that the far-right Alternative for Germany won Saxony-Anhalt’s election with 44.5 percent, more than twice the CDU’s 18.5 percent. The result could make it the first far-right party to take power at state level in Germany since World War II, although its ability to form a government or secure an outright majority remains uncertain.
