> Israel says its forces have established operational control over the strategically important Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon after a prolonged operation against Hezbollah positions, including tunnels beneath the highland. Hezbollah has not formally responded. Analysts describe the move as a military gain and a means of pressuring Lebanon’s government, while Israel says it will remain in the security zone until Hezbollah is disarmed and threats to northern Israeli communities are removed.
