# Australia gives crypto firms until Sept. 30 to get licensed or risk enforcement

> Australia’s securities regulator is giving crypto businesses that require financial-services authorization until Sept. 30 to enter a licensing or compliance pathway, notify ASIC of an application, or wind down. From Oct. 1, firms that have not met the relevant conditions will lose the temporary no-action protection and could face civil or criminal penalties.
