# Putin unveils Far East development strategy, says region will test drone deliveries for commercial goods

The region will test simplified government procurement, introduce a special legal regime for drones from January 1, 2027, and trial low-altitude delivery of civilian cargo. A unified business preference regime will also cover the Far East and Arctic. Putin also recounted encountering a tiger in the forest.
