> China reopened the G216 national highway to Gyirong Port in Xizang after round-the-clock efforts, allowing heavy vehicles and equipment into the disaster zone to search for those still missing. The mudslide hit on August 26 after an ice-rock avalanche in Nepal, leaving 16 dead and 546 missing. Rescue teams are also restoring communications, supporting displaced residents and providing medical aid, while China has sent further supplies and DNA experts to Nepal.
