> Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has again urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to end Moscow’s war against Ukraine. The appeal reflects India’s long-standing policy of strategic autonomy rather than a strategic shift in its foreign policy. India and Russia remain closely linked, with Russia supplying about 40% of India’s defense imports and continuing to meet its energy needs. Analysts expect the remarks to cause no rupture in ties or change Putin’s position.
