> Ukraine’s SBU says it and military intelligence disrupted an alleged FSB plan to kill a Russian opposition figure during a planned visit to Kyiv on Ukraine’s Independence Day, August 24. The SBU withheld the person’s name, while Ukrainian media identified him as Russian Volunteer Corps deputy commander Stepan Kaplunov, who the group had said disappeared near his home.
