> The US launched fresh airstrikes on Iranian targets on Tuesday, dashing hopes that last weekend’s exchange of fire would not lead to a broader renewal of hostilities. US Central Command said the strikes targeted Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps positions after alleged attempts to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and US personnel. Iran vowed a military response to intensified pressure and threatened to stop Gulf oil exports.
